Melisa Zimmerman
Melisa Zimmerman was born and raised in Western Oklahoma and moved to Yukon with her husband, Steven, in 2008. They have three married children and 11 grandchildren.
Melisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1994. Her nursing career included psychiatric nursing and nine years with the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing. In 2009, she transitioned into full-time ministry, serving at Victory Church where she provided leadership, training, and mentorship to more than 125 small-group leaders.
In 2012, Melisa and Steven founded Bridge Builder Marriage Ministry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening marriages and families through biblical counseling, practical tools, teaching, and conferences. Melisa is a Certified Biblical Counselor and Certified Life Coach and holds Marriage on the Rock certification through the marriage ministry founded by Jimmy Evans.
Melisa and Steven work with couples from premarital preparation through marriage crisis, as well as individuals, blended families, pastors, and ministry leaders. Melisa is also an author, Bible teacher, and conference speaker who has written books, devotionals, journals, and Bible studies for women and couples. Her passion is helping people know God, understand His Word, and apply biblical truth to their lives, marriages, and families.
Steve Zimmerman
Steven Zimmerman was born and raised in Minnesota. After years of living disconnected from faith, he had a life-changing encounter with God and committed his life to Christ in 1998. His own journey through relationships, faith, and personal growth gives him a practical understanding of the challenges couples face and the power of biblical truth to bring lasting change.
Steven spent many years in the mortgage industry, including navigating the challenges of the housing crisis. His professional experience strengthened his ability to communicate clearly, listen carefully, navigate difficult conversations, and help people work through complex decisions.
Since coming to Christ, Steven has remained actively involved in ministry. He is a licensed Assemblies of God minister, Certified Biblical Counselor, Certified Life Coach, and holds Marriage on the Rock certification through the marriage ministry founded by Jimmy Evans. He has served as a teacher, small-group leader, and instructor for new believers.
In 2012, Steven and his wife, Melisa, founded Bridge Builder Marriage Ministry. Together, they counsel couples from premarital preparation through marriage crisis and work with individuals, blended families, pastors, and ministry leaders. Steven brings biblical truth, practical experience, and straightforward communication into the counseling room, helping husbands and wives identify what is not working and develop practical tools for building healthier, Christ-centered marriages.
Steven and Melisa have been married for 23 years and have three married children and 11 grandchildren. His commitment to Christ, his family, and the local church continues to shape the way he leads, counsels, and serves others.
Together, Steven and Melisa bring their personal experience, professional training, and years of ministry into helping couples prepare for marriage, strengthen healthy marriages, and restore marriages in crisis. As a blended family themselves, they understand firsthand both the challenges and opportunities that come with bringing two families together. Their commitment is simple: to give couples biblical truth and practical tools that help them build strong, lasting relationships.
