Melisa Zimmerman
Born in Western Oklahoma, she spent the vast majority of her life there. She moved with her husband and daughter to Yukon in 2008. She is the mother of 3 children, all are married, and has 10 grandchildren. She is very invested in her family. Melisa received her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK in 1996. She worked in the nursing field for many years, which included her last position working for the OU College of Nursing for 9 years. In 2007 Melisa left nursing to join the staff of Victory Church in Warr Acres, OK., where she served on staff in charge of the Small Groups Ministry. Providing oversight, leadership, training, and mentorship to more than 125 Small Group leaders. Melisa loved the opportunity she has had to teach classes that help equip people to move into a more personal or deeper relationship with God. In 2013, along with her husband, Steven, founded Bridge Builder Marriage Ministry. This ministry is 501c3 organization whose purpose is to improve the state of marriages in Oklahoma and throughout the nation. She does this as a Certified Life Coach. she is also Jimmy Evans-Marriage on the Rock Certified, She and her husband, Steve work with couples in all phases of relationship from pre-marriage to marriage in crisis. Melisa is also a published author, having published books, devotionals, and journals for women and couples. She is a conference speaker, speaking to women’s groups, churches, and other organizations. In addition to the work she does with women’s ministry, she and her husband provide marriage conferences to churches and events to promote Biblical marriage.
Steve Zimmerman
Steve was born and raised in Minnesota. He was raised nearly Catholic, and after firing God, he had a life-changing encounter and reemerged a devoted follower of Christ. Steve brings twenty years of all types of relationship chaos history into their marriage of 20 years. An accomplished wordsmith and a lifelong motor mouth, he is more than happy to share all that God has shown him during their on-going conversation over more than 20 years. Surviving in the awkward and challenging world of mortgages during the housing crash has led him to a unique conversational skillset. Serving in church since receiving salvation, Steve is a licensed minister, a certified Biblical Counselor, a certified Life Coach, Jimmy Evans-Marriage on the Rock Certified, committed teacher, small group leader, and teaches a new believers class. He has displayed the same devotion to the bride of Christ as he has to his bride, Melisa. Steve is an amazing leader of his family which includes 3 married children and his 10 grandchildren.
Together, Steve and Melisa have purposed to bring all their experiences and training to bear in preparing couples for marriage, enriching marriages, and repairing marriages. They have a special place in their hearts for speaking into blended families as they have walked that path since they met. Their mission continues to be “Building and Rebuilding Bridges in Relationships”.
